ALLIED Polishing Cloths

A wide range of woven, non-woven and napped polishing cloths are available for fine grinding, coarse, intermediate and fine polishing and final preparation of all materials.

Each cloth has been developed for maximum performance, durability and wear resistance.

For comparison, all SEM photographs in this section are at 50X magnification.

Our NEW magnetic-compatible cloths can be used with any magnetic fastening system.

Stainless Steel Mesh

Fine stainless steel mesh on an aluminum foil polyethylene backing. Use with diamond (45-1 micron) and any extender for regular or vibratory polishing of ceramic composites and other hard materials.

PLAN-Cloth

Durable woven polyester with hard resin coating used with diamond (30-6 micron) and either BlueLube or GreenLube extenders. Provides aggressive stock removal and excellent flatness on all types of materials.

Gold Label

Specially woven durable, nap-free nylon with plastic backing used with diamond (15-3 micron) and any extender. Provides excellent flatness and superior cut rate on a wide variety of materials, especially samples composed of materials with varying hardness.

TECH-Cloth

Tightly woven silk used with diamond (9-1 micron) and any extender. Reduces smearing and pullout, providing excellent finish, flatness and edge retention. Especially good for coatings and samples composed of materials with varying hardness.

Kempad

Chem-Pol

Unique polyurethane, low-napped cloth for chemical/ mechanical polishing. Used with colloidal silica/alumina (1- 0.02 micron) suspensions, this long-lasting cloth provides an excellent final polish for a wide variety of materials. Especially effective when preparing materials for SEM or TEM evaluation.

Final A

Nap-free, polyurethane cloth used with diamond (1-0.05 micron), colloidal silica (0.06-0.02 micron) or alumina suspensions. Excellent for final polishing a wide variety of materials. Especially effective when preparing soft metals (i.e., copper, aluminum, etc.), which have a tendency to smear.
